Sandra Hobbs Moore, 79, of Moorhead, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.

Sandra was born on December 18, 1945, in Greenwood, to Edgar Allen Hobbs, Sr. and Eleanor Conger Hobbs. Sandra married James Albert "Jimmy" Moore, Jr. in 1964, and they made their home in Moorhead. She taught in Starkville and Indianola for 5 years prior to becoming an English Instructor at Mississippi Delta Community College, a position she held for 30 years prior to her retirement. After retiring from MDCC, she was elected as a Sunflower County Election Commissioner and held that position for 10 years. She was a member of the MDCC Alumni Association and the Moorhead Chamber of Commerce. Sandra was a devoted member of Moorhead Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and church organist for many decades.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Eleanor Hobbs, and her beloved husband, Jimmy Moore.

Sandra is survived by two children, James A. Moore, III "Trey" (Veronica) of Overland Park, Kansas and Amber Moore Thompson (Tom) of Madison; brother, Eddie Hobbs (Charlotte) of Moorhead; and five grandchildren, Daniel Moore (Rheanna), Dominic Moore, Gabriela Moore Otero (Angel), Hunter Thompson, and H.A. Thompson, V.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Moorhead Baptist Church. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am with Bro. Bryant Lary officiating. A private family burial will be held in Moorhead Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements. Memorials may be made to Moorhead Baptist Church, PO Box 550, Moorhead, MS 38761, or Baptist Children's Village, PO Box 27, Clinton, MS 39060.
