Sandra Morris

Sandra A. (nee Derrickson) Morris passed away peacefully on January 11 , 2026 after a

brief illness. Her passing was calm and peaceful surrounded by love and admiration

from her husband, sons, daughter, and sister as she joined the Lord in His Kingdom.

Sandra is predeceased by her father, Everett Derrickson, mother, Dorthea (nee

Dougherty) Derrickson, sister, Stella (nee Derrickson) Ervin, and brother, Everett

Derrickson Jr.

Sandra was born and raised in Southwest Philadelphia attending John Bartram High

School graduating in 1965. Sandra married in 1967 to John J. Morris of West

Philadelphia and have been married for 58 wonderful years until her passing. They had

4 children: John Jr., Edward, Kenneth, and Michelle raising them in Darby borough and

Drexel Hill. Sandra worked at the St. Francis Nursing home as an events coordinator, a

job she loved, working with the elderly residents along side of her co-workers whom she

maintained long lasting friendships.

In retirement she loved spending time with her friends at the senior center and the

Marine Corp League 884 in Secane, PA where she was in the Women's auxiliary as a

judge advocate volunteering in community activities, she especially loved assisting with

the Marine Corp League's "Marine Corp Ball" and Christmas toy drive. In addition, she

adored her children and grandchild spending time with them by visiting John Jr. in

Florida, Ken in Arizona, and Ed, Michelle and granddaughter Gabrielle locally attending

movies, theater shows and summers at the campground in New Jersey.

Sandra is survived by her loving, husband, John J. Morris Sr., son, John Morris Jr. and

daughter in-law, Devin Burris, son Edward Morris and daughter in-law, Joan (nee Maslo)

Morris, son, Kenneth Morris and daughter in-law, Patricia Shillingburg, daughter,

Michelle (nee Morris) DuAime and son in-law, Scott DuAime and granddaughter,

Gabrielle DuAime, sister, Dora Mae (nee Derrickson) Warriner, sister, Marian (nee

Derrickson) McKinley, and brother, Wayne Derrickson, as well as numerous nieces and

nephews.

Funeral Mass: 11am Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at Saint Gabriel's Roman Catholic

Church 233 Mohawk Ave., Norwood, PA 19074

Visitation: 9:45-11:00am Family and Friends can come visit pray and pay last respects

prior to services.

Burial will be a private ceremony at Washington Crossing National Cemetery 830

Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940.
