Sandra Buchanan Munday, age 78, passed away on May 22, 2025. She was born October 1, 1946, in Roxboro, to the late Robert Buchanan and Elva Chandler Buchanan. Sandra was a faithful and devoted member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where she enjoyed being a member of the Christian Friends Sunday School Class.
Sandra is survived by her husband, Andrew Claude Munday III; daughter, Kimberly Ann Munday; grandson, Kaleb Anthony Munday; sister, Linda Mansfield; brothers, Eric Buchanan and Ronald Buchanan; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her son, Robert Anthony "Moose" Munday; brother, Leroy Fred Buchanan; sister, Gloria Vernon.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 8400 Poole Road, Knightdale. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends and relatives following the service, in the church fellowship hall.
The family would like to personally thank Andy's niece, Dawn Whitfield and her friend Toni Woodman, for their wonderful care for Sandra. They would also like to thank Becky Sanders, Ronisha Harris, and Ruby Tomlinson, also known as "Andy's Angels" for the care given to Sandra and the continued care to Andy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church, 8400 Poole Road, Knightdale, NC 27545.
