Sandra "Sandy" G. Newlun, 77, of Grand Island, Florida, passed away on February 4, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.
Sandy was born on August 10, 1948 in St Charles, Il., to Herb and Leila Willig. She married Leroy C. Newlun on December 11, 1965, in Clifton, Wisconsin. They shared many years together until Leroy's passing in 2014. Later, Sandy found love again and married Ed Rhodes on June 10, 2018.
Sandy is survived by her devoted husband, Ed; her son, Leroy (Cathy) Newlun; and her daughter, Tracy (Robin) Johnson. She was a proud grandmother to Ryan (Danielle) Johnson, Shawna Johnson, Ashley Newlun, Keira Newlun, and Heather Newlun, and a loving great-grandmother to Hailey and Maci Newlun and Paxton, Parker, and Colter Johnson.
She is also survived by her brother, Jerry Willig; her sisters, Shirley Plote, Judy Borden, Joy Duensing, and Barb Willig; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leroy C. Newlun; her parents, Herb and Leila Willig; and her brothers, Roger and Herb Willig.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
