Sandra Kay Nolley, 78, of Mullens, died Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Raleigh General Hospital after a long battle with illness.
Born December 31, 1946, in a coal camp in Carbon, she was the daughter of the late Margaret Burdette and the late Arthur Burdette.
A graduate of Dunbar High School and WV State University, Sandra pursued a career in teaching, where she impacted countless lives within both the Kanawha and Wyoming County School systems for 35 years. Beyond the classroom, Sandra influenced numerous others through Brownies, Girl Scouts, and coaching. She was also an avid member of the Mullens United Methodist Church and their Women’s Circle Group.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents as well as her brothers Leonard and Michael Burdette. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, John Nolley; son, John Nolley II and his wife, Beth Nolley; daughter Erika Furman and her husband, Wayne K. Furman; daughter Brooke Wolf and her husband, Bob Wolf; and grandchildren Iain Furman and Bella Furman.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, August 3rd at 12:30 pm at the Mullens United Methodist Church.
