Sandra Lynn Pajewski

 Sandra Lynn (Shaughnessy) Pajewski, age 68, of Hays, Kansas passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at her home.

She was born on August 7, 1956, in Detroit, Michigan to Patrick and Margaret (Gignac) Shaughnessy.

The third of ten children, Sanda lived briefly in Royal Oak, Michigan before moving with her family to Beloit, Wisconsin.

She graduated from Beloit Catholic High School in 1974, and later received a degree in computer programming from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Sandy worked as a systems analyst at Lab Safety Supply/Grainger for 25 years before retiring in 2016, and moving to Hays. 

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, cherishing the time spent with her daughter, Marie and her grandson, Holden. Sandy was an avid reader, enjoyed knitting, tending to the many flowers in her garden, traveling with her husband, Dennis, and always looking forward to the next big family reunion.

Her nine siblings along with their families joined Sandy, and her family for a special gathering in early October. The stories, smiles, memories , and the long line of heartfelt hugs will continue to be a treasured memory for all. 

Sandy is survived by her husband, Dennis Pajewski; her daughter, Marie (Lanning) Wegele and husband, Dustin; her grandson, Holden Wegele; her sisters, Jan Kunz; Maureen Wallace and husband, Michael; Kathy Griffin and husband, Dave; Marie Harrington and husband, Todd; Karen Garrison and husband, Jeff; Amy Fontenot and husband, Brian; her brothers, Kevin Shaughnessy and wife, Debra; Paul Shaughnessy and wife, Molly; Dan Shaughnessy and wife, Sarah; and her sister-in-law, Barbara Pajewski.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Margaret Shaughnessy; her brothers-in-law, Rick Kunz and Thomas Pajewski; her sister-in-law, Kathy Pajewski; and her nephew, Nick Mason.

The family would like to thank the staff at Dreiling-Schmidt Cancer Center and the Hospice of Hays Medical Center for their kind care.

 A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to be used according to the wishes of the family to be designated at a later date and made payable to: Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, 1919 East 22nd Street, Hays, Kansas 67601.
