Michael Wiza Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Curlew Hills Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Jan. 20, 2026.
Michael Joseph Wiza, known affectionately to friends and family as Mike, passed away on January 19, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on February 17, 1949, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Mike's kind heart and joyful spirit were gifts to all who knew him. He departed this life in Largo, Florida, after a courageous battle with complications of Alzheimer's Disease.
Mike was a proud graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. His dedication to his studies was only matched by his commitment to his country; he served in the Marine Reserves from 1969 to 1971, receiving an Honorable Discharge for his service. Mike's work ethic and charismatic personality led him to a successful career in Sales & Marketing, where he was respected by colleagues and competitors alike for his integrity and ingenuity.
In his personal life, Mike was a Christian, living his faith through his unwavering support for his family. He was a funny, handy, and interesting man, always ready with a joke to lighten the mood or a tool to fix a problem. Mike's sense of humor and resourcefulness were traits that endeared him to many and will be sorely missed.
An avid golfer, Mike could often be found on the green, perfecting his swing and enjoying the camaraderie of fellow enthusiasts. His passion for the sport was only rivaled by his love for the Green Bay Packers. Mike's loyalty to his team was as steadfast as his commitment to his loved ones, and game days were sacred occasions in the Wiza household.
Mike is survived by a loving family who will continue to honor his legacy: his wife, Sandra Wiza; his former wife, Carla Wiza; his daughter, Ann Wiza Hurley; his son, Paul Wiza; his sister, Kathy Sitarz; and his brother, Ron Wiza. Each family member carries forward a piece of Mike's spirit, whether through a shared joke, a fond memory, or the embodiment of his values.
As we bid farewell to Michael Joseph Wiza, we celebrate a life well-lived, a man well-loved, and a legacy that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him. Mike's absence leaves a void in the hearts of many, but his influence remains a guiding light. His life was a testament to the power of laughter, the strength of family, and the joy of a life fully embraced. Rest in peace, Mike; your memory will forever be a blessing to us all.

Micheal was a very special friend to me, I met him many years ago as I took care of his father at the VA hospital. I knew his sister Kathy pretty well, loved his mom and her and I became very close. Our relationship was extremely special, I loved and shared alot of the cottage with him, he told me my plants and flowers left a special foot print there. I hope the family keeps the cottage, I remember when Ann would come with her friends, we would build her a big pile of branches so they could enjoy a fire. I met Pogo many years ago and enjoyed helping Micheal pull some great jokes on him (my knee my knee). April is right around the corner, we traveled my times from Florida to Wisconsin, he loved his Thursday night golf league and his crazy friend Kevin. 1987 is when we met and I enjoyed being a big part of his life, I know Kathy and Pogo will remember me, my name is Kathy, I was an RN, I live in Milwaukee, Micheal said he wants his ashes, some at Eagle Spring lake and some at Clearwater, the condo in Indian Hills was special to us. I sent a picure of Micheal to the Touhy Rd address in c/o of Ann about a year ago. my e-mail is [email protected]. I hope this note doesn't upset anyone. I loved him for many years, my blessings to Ann and Pau;
