Our wonderful mother, Sandra “Sandy” Lee Parker peacefully passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2023, surrounded by her five daughters and sons-in-law.
Sandy was born in Meadville, Pennsylvania, on January 3, 1949. On August 23, 1968, Sandra wed Frank "Jay" Parker and together they had five daughters, shared countless memories, and celebrated 47 years of marriage before Jay's passing in 2016. Sandra was devout in her faith and very involved in her church, Vassar Victory Center, and was a spiritual mentor to many. She cherished being a wife, and being the best mom to her daughters and grandmother to her grandchildren. Further, Sandy valued having a nice, cozy, and welcoming home for all who visited.
She leaves to cherish in her memory her daughters: Lacy (Eric) Gawne, Lisa (Lance) Heinlein, Lana (Patrick) Garvin, Lindsey (Lenny) Corliss, and Leah Parker; eight grandchildren: Nicholas, Natalya, Sam, Lily, Leo, Garrett, Taylor, and Brayden; sister, Elizabeth Lloyd; as well as extended family and several close friends.
Sandra is preceded in death by her husband, Jay; parents, William & Peggy (Merriman) Williams; and son-in-law, Brad Rittenberg.
Sandy’s family will welcome guests to Vassar Victory Center (800 State Road, Vassar, MI 48768) on Thursday, October 12, 2023, for a time of visiting from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sandy’s memorial service will begin at 5:00 p.m.
The family has asked for any memorial contributions to be directed to the Brad Rittenberg Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Kindly share a memory with Sandy's family in the guestbook below.
