Sandra (Sandy) Lee White Phillips, age 81, of
Panama City, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025. She was the beloved wife of Teddy C. Phillips, Sr., and the daughter of the late William C. White and Bertha Mae White (Wallace). Born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, Sandy was the oldest of two children and grew up with her sister, Victoria White. She attended Ford High School in Laurens, South Carolina, and later graduated from Gulf Coast College.
Sandy's life was deeply rooted in her faith. She was baptized at Lucas Avenue Baptist Church in Laurens, South Carolina. She later moved to Augusta, Georgia, where she and her family attended Hillcrest Baptist Church. When the family moved to Graceville, Florida, she attended classes at the Baptist University of Florida, formerly known as the Baptist Bible Institute. Upon settling in Panama City, she attended Emmanuel Baptist Church, where she drove the church bus. In later years, she worshiped at First Baptist Church of Bayou George before becoming a member of First Baptist Church of Lynn Haven, Florida, where she worked in the nursery many years ago.
Sandy was a loving homemaker whose heart and home were always open. She dedicated her life to her family, creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love. Known for her gentle spirit and selfless nature, she had a way of making everyone feel cared for and welcome. She cherished her family, her hobbies of crocheting and reading, and her many beloved cats, earning her the affectionate nickname "the Cat Lady." She was devoted to creating a warm and inviting home and treasured every moment spent with her children and grandchildren. She will also be deeply missed by her best friend of 52 years, Bobbie Freeman, and by Amy Hill, her favorite waitress at PoFolks Restaurant in Lynn Haven.
She is survived by her husband, Teddy; her children, Teddy C. Phillips, Jr. and wife Mary Phillips (Miller), Melody Phillips (Holmes), Mary Angel Phillips (Barrientos) and husband Alex Barrientos, William Phillips, and Christopher Phillips; and her grandchildren, Marian Phillips, Victoria Phillips (Clark), Magdelene Brannon, Robert Poucher, Alexander Barrientos, Sean Barrientos, and Isabella Barrientos. She was preceded in death by her grandchildren, Catherine Angelia Barrientos and Gabriella Anne Barrientos.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Lynn Haven, Florida. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home,
Panama City, Florida.
