Sandra Pierson Obituary

Sandra earned her master's degree from Butler University and served as a well-respected Home Economics Teacher at Danville Jr. High School for 37 years in Danville, Indiana. Her hobby and passion was traveling around the world. She visited 70 countries! Sandra was a member of Sarasota-Manatee Pi Beta Phi Alumnae Club and Republican Women's Club of Sarasota.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Mark Pierson and his wife Mary; and Todd Pierson and his wife Debra Munholand; sister Sue Ellen (Suzie) Daily; grandchildren Amanda Shaw and her husband Miles; Ashley Hernandez and her husband George; and 4 great grandchildren Hunter, Savannah, Kelsey and Khloe.
In addition to her parents, Sandra was predeceased by her husband George Pierson.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 in the Bosstick Gym located inside the Danville Town Hall (formerly the Jr. High School). A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at the Danville South Cemetery. Baker Funeral Home, Danville, is handling the local arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made in Sandra's honor to Tidewill Hospice c/o Empath Health, 5595 Rand Blvd. Sarasota, Florida 34238.

Mrs Pierson was such a kind woman and I am so grateful I gotten to have three years of being able to go to her class during those sometimes difficult junior high years. I always looked forward to her class, it was a break from all the noise. Mrs Pierson was like going over to grammas to do arts, crafts, and cooking! I´m sure she is already missed by so many, I know I missed her when we went up to high school! RIP to a wonderful lady.

Such a nice lady! So sorry she's gone.
I was lucky enough to have her for Home Ec. during her student teaching semester here @ Danville High School. Our 1st lesson was how to make a bed doing only once around the bed, not multiple times. Wonder how many miles I've saved over the years doing it her way?
Decades later, while helping to plan for our 40th class reunion, I had a very nice phone conversation w/ her, and it didn't last for just a few minutes!
