Sandra Ellen "Sandy" Pixler

Sandra Ellen Pixler, 85, of Portage Lakes, passed away on October 26, 2025. She was born in Bridgeport, WV on January 30, 1940 to the late Rex Leggett and Inez (William) {Tustin} Cosner.

In addition to her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by her sons Stanley and James "Kyle" Pixler.

Sandy is survived by her loving sons Bryan (Arddy) Pixler and Jeffrey (Jill) Pixler; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother Larry Leggett.

Sandy worked at Modern Builders Supply for 30 years, and was a longtime member of Green Valley United Methodist Church. She had many hobbies throughout the years, such as ceramics, crocheting and gardening, but the constant was her love of bird watching. She always enjoyed a good soap opera or romance novel, and trips to Burnsville, WV.

Sandy connected with people through food; family dinners out, especially at Parasson's were her favorite, and she was famous for her peanut butter fudge and frosted Christmas cookies.

Sandy's family would like to extend their gratitude to Barberton Brookdale/Pointe and Traditions Hospice for their compassionate care in her final months.
