Sandie K. Protzman, 74, residing in Sandusky, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Stein Hospice Care Center after a lengthy illness.

Sandie was born July 17, 1949, in Sandusky, to Charles Wickwire and Alice (Hire) Taylor.

Sandie retired from Walmart as a cashier after many years of service. She was a member of Second Chance Chapel in Sandusky. In her spare time, she enjoyed music, art, cooking, crafts, bowling, and fishing. She loved spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

Sandie is survived by her husband, Frank Protzman, whom she married in July, 1973; four daughters, Connie (Jim) Silcott of Sandusky, Carol Marrujo of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Michelle Protzman (Kevin Keith) of Oak Harbor, and Annette Protzman of Castalia; two sons, Leroy Stockero of Marysville and Michael (Nicole) Protzman of Sandusky; 18 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four sisters, Linda Jaramillo of Aloha, Oregon, Mildred (Charles) Forsythe of Sandusky, Dinah Freeman of Greenwich, and Rose (James) Winters of Sandusky; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Frankie Protzman; two grandsons, Zach and Landon Protzman; three brothers, Chester Taylor, Leroy Spayde, and Bill Spayde; and two sisters, Francis Silva and Debbie Spayde.

Visitation for friends will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2024, until the time of Sandie's funeral at 12 p.m. at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, with Pastor Don Green presiding. Burial will follow at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
