Sandra (Sandy) Rader passed away Saturday, October 4th, 2025, at her home near San Andreas following a brief illness. She was 82.
Sandy was born on September 3, 1943, in Stockton to Gerard and Flossie Oneto and was raised in San Andreas. She was a 5th-generation lifelong resident of Calaveras and a direct descendant of the Oneto, Cuneo, and Gomes families who settled here in the 1850s.
A graduate of Calaveras High, Class of 1961, she married her high school sweetheart, Leroy Rader, in 1962. In 1973, they built their home on the Oneto Ranch, where they raised their family and lived for the rest of their lives. Sandy was a homemaker and also worked in the Elections Department of the County Recorder's Office for 27 years. She enjoyed gardening and cooking and was a devout San Francisco Giants fan since 1958.
Preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 55 years, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Lane and Veronica Rader; daughter and son-in-law, Libby and Dave Kassik; grandson, Coleman; and granddaughters, Vanessa and Nancy, all of San Andreas. She also leaves her brother, Lance Oneto, and family of San Andreas, as well as many friends and relatives.
At her request, no services will be held.
