Sandra Flattmann Roccaforte passed away peacefully at her home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Thursday, January 22, 2026. She was born on October 14, 1943, in New Orleans to Elwood A. Flattmann and Cleon Reuther Flattmann. She attended St. Christopher School and was a 1961 graduate of St. Mary's Dominican High School.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Bob Flattmann.
Sandra is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Joseph "Jay" Roccaforte, Jr.; their daughters, Kim Roccaforte and Beth Metrailer and husband Charles; and her beloved grandchildren, Lauren Metrailer Miller, Katie Metrailer Matus, Emily Metrailer, Claire Wigley and Taylor Wigley, who affectionately called her "Honey"; as well numerous other family and friends.
She was an accomplished artist and a member of the Baton Rouge Art League. She was an active member and past president of the Baton Rouge Symphony League. In 1989, Sandra was named one of Baton Rouge's Best Dressed. She was a competitive tennis player at The Country Club of Louisiana. Her team won city and state championships, advancing to regional tournaments on several occasions.
Sandra was the consummate hostess. She found joy in decorating and creating a home rooted in love, happiness and lasting memories. She will be missed and forever cherished.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at St. George Catholic Church, 7808 St. George Drive in Baton Rouge. A Visitation will be held at the church beginning at 8:30 a.m. A celebration of Sandra's life will follow at The Country Club of Louisiana.
