A Celebration of Life for Mark A. Bodin, will be held Saturday, January 31, 2026, 11:00 AM at MK Dixon Funeral Home in Baldwin, La.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, until the commencement of the celebration at MK Dixon Funeral Home in Baldwin, La.
Mark Anthony Bodin, a resident of Baldwin, passed away quietly with his wife by his side at Ochsner Hospital in Baton Rouge on Friday, January 23, 2026. Mark, more affectionately known as “Spanky” by his family and friends, was born on May 6, 1963, at Franklin Foundation Hospital.
Mark was a 1981 graduate of Hanson Memorial High School,and attended Young Memorial Trade School in Franklin. Spanky was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, making sausage, going to the camp and spending time with his wife and friends. As a young man he was employed as brick layer, then as a farm laborer for the Luke’s in Bayou Sale and eventually moved on to be a gauger and pumper in the oil field industry until his death.
Survivors include his loving wife of 15 years, Sheila Daniel Bodin; sister, Jolinda Lathum; mother-in-law, Carrie Brown Daniels; brothers- in-law, Alfred, Jr., Allen, Chris ,Joseph (Tiersa) and Bernard (Tiffany) Daniels, Jeff Banks, Michael Gunner; sisters- in-law, Sharon Daniels, Debra (Kevin) Baker; host of other loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends too many to name.
He was preceded in death by his parents Melvin J. Bodin and Janice Singleton Bodin; brother, Derrick Bodin; father-in-law, Alfred “June” Daniel, Sr.; brother-in-law, Larry Daniels.
