Lafayette, LA for Frank J. Ancona, Sr., 84, who passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025, at his residence in
Lafayette, LA.
Visitation will be observed at St. Edmond Roman Catholic Church in
Lafayette, LA on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, from 10:00 am until 10:30 am.
A Rosary will be recited by Knights of Columbus on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 10:30 am at St. Edmond Roman Catholic Church in
Lafayette, LA.
Readers for the service are Todd Ancona and Frank Ancona, Jr. His grandchildren will serve as Gift Bearers.
Inurnment will follow in Fountain Memorial Cemetery in
Lafayette, LA.
A Reception be held at St. Edmond Family Center after burial.
Father Francis Agbley, Pastor of St. Jules Catholic Church, in Franklin, LA, will officiate. Con-Celebrant will be Father Joe Campion, of St. Edmond Roman Catholic in
Lafayette, LA. A homily will be recited by Father Gilbert Dutel, retired priest of
Lafayette, LA.
Frank J. Ancona, Sr., was born June 12, 1941, in Franklin, LA and was a long-time resident of Acadiana. He graduated from Hanson Memorial High School in Franklin, LA, Class of 1959. After high school, Frank attended Southwestern Louisiana Institute, now University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
Frank worked as a Civil Engineer for 49 years until his retirement. He was active in his community and belonged to Knights of Columbus Lodge #1420 in Franklin, LA and St. Edmond's K.C. #10293. Frank was a parishioner of St. Edmond Roman Catholic Church in Lafayette. He enjoyed traveling, but most of all, he loved to spend time with his family and friends.
Frank is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Dolores Ann Landry Ancona, of
Lafayette, LA; his four daughters, Katherine Quintana and her husband, Gregory, of Jupiter, FL, Lt. Col. Angela Huval, of
Lafayette, LA, Julie Oubre and her husband, Jeremy, I, of
Lafayette, LA and Amber Oubre and her husband, Tyler, of
Lafayette, LA; his two sons, Frank Ancona, Jr. and his wife, Lisa, of Youngsville, LA and Todd Ancona and his wife, Ester, of
Lafayette, LA; his two brothers, Angelo Ancona and his wife, Linda, of Duson, LA and Ben Ancona and his wife, Pat, of Franklin, LA; his one sister, Mary Bienek and her husband, Gilbert, of New Iberia, LA; his ten grandchildren, Tony Ancona, Jed Ancona, Aaron Comeaux, Wyatt Quintana, Ashlynn Quintana, Allyson Huval, Jeremy Oubre, II, Olivia Oubre, Ashley Oubre and Wes Oubre; his five great-grandchildren, Olivia Ancona, Madelyn Ancona, Jackson Ancona, Aubrey Ancona and Sophia Ancona and numerous dear nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony Joseph Ancona and the former Magdalena Emily Mangana and his brother, Michael Ancona and his wife, Theresa.
