Sandra Lee Ruiz Roy passed peacefully on the morning of July 17, 2023. Sandra was 53 years young.
Sandra was born in Garyville, but was a native of LaPlace, Louisiana. Sandra was a lifelong homemaker.
Sandra is preceded in death by her beloved husband John Roy. Theirs was a fairytale love. He was the love of her life and when he passed away he took a major part of her heart with him. You never saw John without Sandra. The only comfort in her passing is the fact they will be together for eternity, right where they belong.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, beloved Marie Jacob and Frank Ruiz, as well as three siblings: Kent Michael, Tammy Lynn and Frank Ruiz, III.
Sandra had no children but was a blessing to her many, many nephews and nieces. She is survived by her siblings: Angelina Collier, Christiana Monica, Barbra Ruiz, Diana Ruiz, Peter Ruiz, Randy Ruiz, David Ruiz and Timothy Ruiz. She will be missed by them and so many more friends and family.
Sandra was an outstanding friend who kept you laughing all the time. She was always kind and so forgiving. Her charm was her spotlight. She loved to tell you corny jokes and you laughed because of the way she told it! She repeated them as well, in case you forgot.
She loved to go play bingo, cards, visit casinos and she was a lucky lady. She usually won when she went. She loved cats and kittens and truth be told she would have collected all the cats in the world and kept them if she could. She just enjoyed life with family and friends and wanted to go wherever you went to be included in all things. Sandra was very good at calling you once a week to tell you how she was and ask how you were. Sandra was a beautiful woman and truly kind.
I could go on and on but there are not enough words to describe Sandra or the emptiness that is left in our hearts and minds.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Service at Celebration Church, 3400 Hwy 51, LaPlace, LA 70068 at 3:30 PM on Sunday, July 30, 2023.
