Mrs. Sandra Patricia Schmidt, age 86, of Shepherdsville, returned to her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. Sandra was born in Liverpool, England on January 27, 1939 to the late William Stanley Wood and Nanna Wood. She was passionate about her church and family. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, her beloved husband, Lonnie B. Schmidt preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Deborah Mitchell (Craig) and Laurie Huston (Steve); grandchildren, Graham Mitchell (Nicole), Andrew Mitchell (Aubrey), Zachary Huston (Venessa) and Alex Huston (Olivia); great-grandchildren, Colby Huston, Dean Mitchell and Zane Huston and many loving family and friends.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 26, 2025 at Davidson Memorial United Methodist Church (249 S. Buckman St., Shepherdsville, KY) with inurnment to follow at Hebron Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of her memorial service at 11:00 am at the church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.)
Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hosparus or to St. Jude's Children's Research.
