Sandra Kay Brownlee Shaw passed away on June 9, 2025, at the age of 83 in Justin, Texas. Born on December 6, 1941 in Washington hospital. Sandra dedicated much of her life to caring for others, both through her professional endeavors and personal commitments.

Sandra graduated from Trinity High School in 1959 and Washington Hospital School of Nursing in 1962. Her compassion and dedication led her to a fulfilling career where she split her time between Washington Hospital and Washington Steel Mill, providing care and support to those in need.

Outside of her professional life, Sandra had a passion for country music, crochet, playing games, and most importantly, spending quality time with her family and friends. These hobbies brought great joy to Sandra and those who had the pleasure of her company.

Sandra was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her children, Steven (Ana) Shaw, Bridget Avery, Suzette (Paul) Mocarski, Frank (Tonya) Shaw, and Robin (Nick) Sollon; sisters, Linda Day and Karen Sue Rowley; brother, Gary (Emily) Brownlee; grandchildren, Matthew Slavka, PJ and Alek Mocarski, Jordan Matone, Nicholas and Shelby Sollon, Alecka Hattis, Alex and Salem Avery, Kelly Solomon, Angela Shaw, Kevin Shaw, and Jason Shaw; along with 11 great-grandchildren. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Virginia Brownlee; sister, Rita Ann Brownlee; and granddaughter, Shannon Dorchak.

Sandra's life was a testament to her warmth, generosity, and the deep bonds she forged with everyone she knew. Her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts and memories of her loved ones and all who knew her.

A memorial will be planned for later in the summer to celebrate her life.

Sandy was a very special friend . We met in Woomera Australia where we spend numerous special times with her and the family. I'll never forget the time when she was a nurse at the hospital and held up the surgery schedule till my son Bryan was born. She then brought him to the waiting room to introduce him to me. She was so special. Sandy you will be missed.
