Sandra Sisk Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by United Funeral Service, Inc. on Jan. 14, 2026.
Sandra Gail Pillow Sisk, 86, departed this life on January 11, 2026, in the serenity of Dogwood Assisted Living in New Albany, MS. Born on August 8, 1939, in the small town of Gibson, TN, Sandra lived a full life characterized by dedication to her family, career, and community, leaving behind a legacy of love and intellectual vitality.
As the passionate matriarch of her family, Sandra is survived by her two devoted sons, Greg Sisk and his wife Lori, and Brian Sisk. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive through her brother, Glen Edward Pillow, and his wife Joan. Sandra's joy was multiplied by her six grandchildren-Olivia Walsh and her husband Mark, Reid Sisk and his wife Miranda, Claybrook Sisk and his wife Ruthie, Walker Sisk, Jack Sisk, and Riley Sisk, as well as by her great-granddaughter, Eden Walsh, who all shared a special bond with their grandmother.
Growing up as one of many siblings, Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Lofton and Reba Claybrook Pillow, as well as her sisters, Hilda Sanders and Marjorie Allen, and her brothers, Joe Pillow and Larry Pillow. Each of them held a place in her heart, and their shared memories formed a tapestry of familial love that Sandra carried throughout her life.
Sandra dedicated many years to the New Albany Schools as a revered school administrator, touching the lives of countless students and educators with her intelligence and commitment to education. Her passion extended beyond her professional achievements to her active involvement in her beloved church, New Albany First Baptist Church, where she was a cherished member, frequently found participating in and helping with activities and social gatherings. Sandra's spiritual life was central to her being.
As a testament to her vibrant social nature, Sandra sold Mary Kay for many years, a pursuit that allowed her to connect with and empower other women in her community. She was loving and intelligent, characteristics that shone brightly through her enjoyment of tennis, her dedication to daily walks, her proficiency in bridge, and her love of reading. Sandra's presence at teas, showers, and other festive occasions further solidified her role as a pillar of her community, continually contributing her strength and warmth to those around her.
A visitation will be held at United Funeral Service on Saturday, January 17, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. until funeral service time at 2:00 p.m. Bro. Andrew Chesteen will officiate. A graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 19, 2026 at Double Springs Cemetery in Gibson County, Tennessee. United Funeral Service is honored to be entrusted with these arrangements.
