Sandra Rae Swanson, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on October 3, 2025, surrounded by family.
She was born October 8, 1939, in Valley City, ND to Carla and James Anderson.
When Sandra was 16, she met the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Swanson. They married on October 18, 1957.
They made their home in Moorhead and in the following years welcomed daughters Tamara, Cheryl and Donna.
Full partners in life, Sandra and Bob made sure family always came first and maintained special relationships with every one of them.
Sandra and Bob enjoyed spending time at their cabin on Dead Lake, MN. They were dedicated members of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.
In 2015, four years after Bob’s passing, Sandra moved in with family. In 2025 she became a resident of Bethany Homes Memory Care. During her journey with dementia, she maintained her smile and concern for others.
Sandra is survived by children Tamara Klocke and Cheryl Swanson of Moorhead, Donna (Paul) Carlson; grandchildren Steven (Jodie) Klocke, Sarah (Tom) Bruce, Bryan Klocke, Matt (fiancé Macy) Klocke, Owen Carlson, Elsa Carlson and Anna Carlson; great-grandchildren Nora Klocke, Hannah Klocke, Izzie Klocke and William Klocke. She is also survived by siblings James Anderson, Shirley Wigen, Janice (Ron) Huesman and Carol Anderson.
Sandra was preceded in death by husband Robert, infant daughter Colleen, parents James and Carla, siblings Eugene Anderson, Gerald Anderson, Pearlene Vosburg, Dale Anderson, Donald Anderson, Ronald Anderson and Richard Anderson.
Please join the family for a visitation on Saturday, October 18, 2025, beginning at 12:00pm, followed by a service at 1:00pm at Wright Funeral Home, 605 2nd Ave. S., Moorhead, MN 56560.
