Wendell, North Carolina - Sandra Ann Temple, age 73, passed away on August 6, 2025. She was born November 16, 1951, in Wake County, to the late James Nelson O'Neal and Rosa Lee Congleton.
Sandra is survived by her beloved husband of 38 years, Terry Dale Temple; daughters, Susan Fergus (Bill), Andi Barton (Charlie); grandchildren, Camden Barton, Avery Fergus, Griffin Barton, Cassel Fergus, Keller Fergus; as well as nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her brother, Danny O'Neal; sister, Susie Peoples.
Sandra worked for 34 years in financial services. She retired in June 2015 as EVP, COO of North State Bank (NSB). During her time at NSB, Sandra was a driving force in the success of Summer Salute, an annual fundraiser for Transitions LifeCare. She served as event co-chair from 2008-2020. In 2013, Sandra was presented with the "Sandra Temple Hospice Hero Award." Since then, there have been 12 recipients of the award, given in recognition for exceptional service and commitment to Transitions LifeCare.
Following retirement, Sandra enjoyed reading, gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. She especially found pleasure in hosting "Camp Gaga" every summer for her grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 12:30 pm, Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Corinth Baptist Church, 13450 NC-96, Zebulon. Graveside service will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends and relatives, prior to the service, from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., in the church fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Transitions LifeCare, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
