Sandy Trnka age, 72 of Montgomery, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 5, 2025. Born in New Prague and raised on a dairy farm outside of Veseli, Sandy was the eldest of four children and learned the value of hard work early in life. She graduated from New Prague High School in 1971 and married Robert Trnka in 1972, beginning a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion.
Sandy was a proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her family deeply. She had a creative spirit and enjoyed sewing, cross-stitching, reading, playing BINGO, and caring for her plants. Her career included roles at Munsingwear, EF Johnson, Itron, Elm Homes and Aging Services, but her most treasured job was being a stay-at-home mom.
She loved to travel and made unforgettable memories on trips to Texas, Alaska, Las Vegas, and Hawaii. Sandy also found peace in nature, especially during camping trips to T & T Hideaway near Cromwell, MN.
Preceded in death by her father, Charles Shimota, her brother-in-law, Douglas Hagerty; her in-laws, Milton and Margie Trnka; Survived by her husband of 53 years, Bob; children: Jonathon (Ronna) Trnka, Brian Trnka, and Lori (Gerald) Wovcha; grandchildren: Allie (Sam), Julie, Lizzie (Mason), Andrew, Annelise, and Mia; great grandson, Evren; mother Amanda Shimota, siblings: Mary Jo (Gary) Turek, Chuck (Eileen) Shimota, and Gary (Donna) Shimota; also by other loving family and friends. Memorial service, 11am Friday, May 9, 2025 at White Funeral Home (Hwy 19) Lonsdale. Memorial visitation from 9-11am prior to the service at the White Funeral Home in Lonsdale.
Sandy will be remembered for her gentle heart, quiet strength, and the deep love she gave to everyone around her.
