WILDFONG, Sandra "Sandy" – of Frankenmuth, formerly of Flushing, age 79, died peacefully on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Covenant Healthcare of Saginaw. Honoring her wishes, cremation will take place, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Sandy was born May 24, 1945, in Flint, to the late Eldon and Marie (Lockwood) Jones. She attended Flushing Community Schools and proudly worked as a special education teacher's assistant at Durant-Tuuri-Mott Elementary School for 25 years. On February 9, 1969, she married Ernest "Ernie" Wildfong, and together they shared 46 years of marriage. Ernie preceded her in death on April 3, 2015. Sandy was a trustworthy, selfless woman who would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. She enjoyed bike riding, walking, going for drives to look at the autumn leaves, and she especially loved camping – making cherished memories with family and friends over the years. Sandy was a woman of faith who loved God and her family with her entire being. Above all, she was an incredible wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be truly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Sandy is forever loved by her Children: Linda Yancey, Mary (Ken) Anderson, and Kelly (Jason) Blackburn; Grandchildren: Sierra (Jeremy), Dakota, Mackenzie, Jaxson, and Logan; Great-Grandson, Bentley; Siblings: JoAnn Wade, Jerry (Millie) Jones, Glenn (Debbie) Jones, Paul (Marsha) Jones, and Gary Jones; Beloved Best Friend, Sharon Whitman; Many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Sandy was preceded in death by her Husband, Ernie Wildfong; Mother and Stepfather, Marie and Ralph Porterfield; Father, Eldon Jones.
