Sandra O. Word, 77
Sandra O. Word died August 6, 2025 from complications of hip surgery. She was born on January 7, 1948 in Okeechobee, Florida to Phannon and Marie O'Bannon. A lifetime resident of Okeechobee, she was a retired elementary school teacher and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Mrs. Word was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Judy Clay; and brother, Timothy O'Bannon.
She is survived by her husband, Carrol Word; stepchildren, Winston Word and Starr Word (Garrett); step grandchildren, August and Everest; brothers, Phannon O'Bannon (Peggy), of Sebring, Florida, and Jerry O'Bannon (Colleen), of Gainesville, Florida; nieces, Barbara Chapman (Ron), of Lake Placid, Florida, and Mackenzie O'Bannon, of Orlando, Florida; nephews, Lee O'Bannon, of Weaver, Alabama, Charles O'Bannon (Mary), of Sebring, Florida, and Christopher O'Bannon (Grace), of St. Petersburg, Florida.
A private service will be held at a later date.
