Sandy was born on March 29, 1947, in Seymour. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Beulah (Butler) Sparks.
On April 3, 1971, she married Steven W. Bode in Seymour. He preceded her in death on November 23, 1996.
She retired from Sylvania and spent her time caring for her beloved granddaughter, Lily, and her faithful dog, Penny.
Sandy is survived by her daughter, Stephanie (John) Starr and granddaughter, Lily Starr. Also, her brothers, Robert (Sue) Sparks Jr. of Tallahassee, FL and Richard Sparks of Bloomington.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 30th, 10:00 a.m. at Voss and Sons Funeral Service, 316 N. Chestnut St., Seymour, IN. Pastor Dennis Williams will officiate. A private burial will be held at White Creek Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made in Sandy's memory to Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) 8719 Colesville Rd, Suite 100, Silver Spring, Maryland 20910 or Veterans Association of America, 511 West 165th Street, Unit 309, New York, NY 10032.
