Sandy Lorts

Sandy Lorts, 83 of Sharpsville died peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, April 30, 2023. She was born in Kokomo, Indiana on September 29, 1939 to Robert and Genevieve (Falkenthal) Rees. She married Ted William Lorts on January 8, 1966. He survives.
Sandy retired from a long career as real estate agent, working for FC Tucker in the Kokomo area. She enjoyed meeting people and helping them with the big decision of purchasing a home. She was a member of the Sharpsville Methodist Church. Her interests include the beach; she enjoyed spending time along the water and just relaxing. Sandy loved to water ski. When she was not involved with the water, she would often be found at the card table, playing card games with friends. Sandy also loved to travel. Planning the excursions and seeing the countryside was her happy place.
Sandy is survived by her husband Ted, sons James and wife Carol of Sharpsville, Robert and wife Jamie of Kokomo and Ted Lorts of Muncie. Sandy has five grandchildren; Andy, Cory, Carson, Peyton and Alana Lorts. She also has two great-grandchildren; Sage and Jermiah Lorts.
Funeral services will be on Friday, May 5, at 11:00 a.m. at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Cooper presiding. Burial will follow at Sharpsville Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
