Ted Lorts Obituary
Ted D. Lorts, 84, Centralia, Missouri, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born July 27, 1938, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of the late Kenneth and Doris (Hedberg) Lorts. He was united in marriage to Helen Nadine (Faucett) Lorts who survives at the home.
In addition to his wife Nadine, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by one daughter Lisa Lorts of Cincinnati, Ohio; three step sons Dan Amerson and his wife Debra of Peculiar, MO, Allen Wilkins and his wife Barbara of Rolla, MO and David Wilkins of Centralia, MO; one brother Jack Lorts and his wife Cecelia of The Dalles, OR; one sister Kenna DeWeber and her husband Richard of Montrose, CO; six grandchildren Lexy, Jessy, Katilyn, Emily, Beth and Greg; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, one daughter Nicole preceded him in death.
Ted served his country in the United States Army. He worked as a music teacher for several school districts. He attended Seminary and became an Ordained Methodist Deacon. He attended the Centralia United Methodist Church where he served as Minister Of Music. Ted loved reading, playing the piano, and collecting old hymnals and music.
Memorial services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, June 24, 2023, at the Centralia United Methodist Church in Centralia, Missouri. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until service time on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at the Centralia United Methodist Church in Centralia, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Centralia United Methodist Church, c/o Oliver Funeral Home, P.O. Box 125, Centralia, Missouri 65240.
