Sandy Lee Poole, lovingly known as Papa Beans, passed away on September 18, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on August 24, 1964, in Dallas, Texas, Sandy lived a life full of love, hard work, and passion for the things and people he held dear. Sandy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Joann Poole, with whom he shared 26 wonderful years together. He was the proud father of Aaron Wilhite and his wife, Amber; cherished “Papa Beans” to his grandchildren Brenton, Evan, and Aubree; and father to his daughters, Jennifer Wilhite and Jennifer Poole. He is also survived by his brothers Chris, Norman, and Leland, and his sister Theresa. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and James Poole; his brother David; and his sister Linda. Those who knew Sandy will remember his passion for his trade and the joy he found in teaching others.

He loved being on the water, where he felt most at peace. Above all, he will be remembered for his kind heart, his laughter, and the deep love he carried for his family. There are many others whom Sandy considered family, even if not listed here by name, who were loved and cherished deeply. Sandy’s presence will be missed beyond words, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.‘Til we see you again, Cowboy - I love you more.
