Sandy C. "Pappy" Tyler

Sandy C. Tyler, affectionately known as "Pappy," was born on April 12, 1964, in Houston, Texas, passed away on December 10, 2025, surrounded by the love of those he cherished. Sandy began his career in management with Cinemark Theaters before fulfilling a lifelong ambition by opening his own insurance agency, The Sandy C. Tyler Insurance Agency under The Brokerage Inc. A devoted servant of his community, he found great joy in mentoring agents and guiding them toward success-so dedicated that even in the weakest moments, he continued encouraging others and recruiting agents from his hospital bed.

Sandy loved traveling, cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers, immersing himself in the worlds of Star Trek, and finding inspiration in Bruce Lee. Known for his generosity and boundless heart, he was always eager to give to others.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Bertha Tyler, his father, Joseph Tyler, and his brother, Eric M. Tyler.

Sandy is survived by the love of his life and wife of 32 years, Niris Tyler, his daughter, Kayla Tyler (Roberto Cantu), his beloved granddaughter, Rory Cantu; as well as numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and countless friends. Sandy touched the lives of so many, and his legacy of kindness, strength, and service will be remembered always.

Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are, Eric Tyler, Joey Chapa, Orlando Vasquez, Billy Fairchild, Travis Jeffery, James Ferguson, Justin Garcia and Robert Reed.
