Obituary published on Legacy.com by Flores Funeral Home - Mission on Feb. 27, 2026.
Santiago Solis Jr., beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2026, at his residence in Mission, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born to Santiago Solis Sr. and Lily Belen Flores.
Santiago was a man whose presence filled a room - strong, dependable, and full of heart. He dedicated his life to providing for his family and loving them fiercely. For 39 beautiful years, he shared a devoted marriage with his beloved wife, Rosaline, building a life grounded in commitment, laughter, and unwavering partnership.
Santiago is preceded in death by his beloved and devoted spouse, Rosaline Solis, and his loving mother. Though their absence was deeply felt, he carried their love with him every day.
He leaves behind a legacy of love through his children: Jennifer Lee Solis, Santiago Solis III, Steven Eric Solis, and Scott Russell (Julissa) Solis. He was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild, each of whom brought immeasurable joy to his life. He is also survived by his loving sister, Gloria Munoz, and numerous cousins and extended family members who will forever cherish his memory.
Santiago was truly in his element when surrounded by his grandchildren. He was patient, playful, and protective - always ready with a story, a joke, or a warm embrace. His grandchildren knew him not only as Grandpa, but as their biggest supporter and quiet hero.
A gifted carpenter by trade, Santiago worked with his hands and built more than just projects - he built memories, homes, and lasting foundations for those he loved. He found peace in gardening, tending to his plants with the same care he gave to his family. He had a passion for drag racing and took great pride in his Ford pickup truck, a symbol of his hardworking spirit and love for the thrill of the ride. He also had a soft heart for animals, never turning away a creature in need.
Family gatherings were never complete without Santiago at the grill. A true master of barbecue, he poured love into every meal he prepared. Cooking for his family was one of the many ways he showed his affection - through flavor, laughter, and togetherness.
His life was defined by loyalty, resilience, and deep love. Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing his legacy lives on in the hands he held, the lessons he taught, and the unconditional love he gave so freely.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 2, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m., at Flores Funeral Home in Mission.
