Sara Jean Boswell Athmann passed away peacefully at the age of 90 years on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Legacy House of Bountiful.
Jean was born December 23, 1934, in Hogansville, Georgia, the daughter of Steve Edward Boswell and Cliffee Odell Eason. She married LuVerne M. Athmann January 16, 1954, in Washington, D.C. They were married for 60 years and 10 days.
Jean is survived by her children: Debbie (Royce) Piercy, Karen Cox, Jeff (Cheryl) Athmann, and Vickie (Don) Riche; 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren, a brother Steve (Annette) Boswell, and sister-in-law Phyllis Meyer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, stepmother Evelyn Boswell, two brothers, sisters-in-law, a great-grandson Parker Dyer and a son-in-law Steve Cox.
The family wishes to thank all who cared for Mom at Legacy House and A-Plus Health Care at Home (Hospice).
A private family graveside service will be held at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
