Sara Bradley of Ellenboro, NC, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at Atrium Health in Shelby.
She is survived by her husband of 16 years, Arthur Bruce Bradley of the home, her children, Annette Hobson of Cherryville, NC, Sherry Price (Rodney) of Ellenboro, NC, Christopher Hutchins (Samantha) of Ellenboro, NC, and Mitchell Hutchins (Mary) of Gaffney, SC, her stepchildren, Arthur Brian Laughter of Bostic, NC, Arthur Bruce Bradley Jr. (Shannon) of Bostic, NC, and Karla Ann Bradley of Bostic, NC, ten grandchildren, Chase Campbell (Kelly) of Clayton, NC, Clay Campbell (Cameron) of Raleigh, NC, Dustin Byers of Cowpens, SC, Danielle Vanhoy (Jason) of Ellenboro, NC, Brandon Hutchins of Marion, NC, Bryan Hutchins of Kings Mountain, NC, Bobbie Patillo (Brian) of Gaffney, SC, Sara Butcher (Bleu) of Knoxville, TN, Haley Humphries of Cullowhee, NC, and Austin Humphries of Ellenboro, NC, nineteen great grandchildren, a sister, Rita Waters (Ronald) of Ellenboro, NC, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Born February 25, 1939, in Rutherford County, Sara was the daughter of the late George Columbus Black and Lillie Mae Brooks Black and was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Black and a sister, Hazel Smith.
Sara was an outstanding nurse. She received numerous awards and accolades from numerous patients and families throughout the years. Sara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She enjoyed planting flowers, gardening, painting, crafting, and spending time with her family and friends. Sara was a faithful member of Campfield Baptist Church where she also participated in the Carolina Faith Riders Ministries and the social committee.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am Friday, July 14, 2023, at Campfield Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Nick King and Rev. Scott Huffman. A visitation will be held from 10:00am – 11:00am prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Campfield Baptist Church Building Fund, 369 Campfield Church Rd, Ellenboro, NC 28040.
