Sara Doris Counts Eslick, age 94 of Mulberry, passed away on September 18, 2023, at Vanderbilt Harton-Tullahoma Hospital. She was born on June 16, 1929, in Moore County to the late James Monroe Counts and Minnie Lesley Counts. Doris was a teacher's aide in Lynchburg and later a devoted homemaker. She enjoyed reading, working puzzles, sewing, tending to her flowers, but most of all, spending time with her family. Doris will always be remembered for her wittiness, sharp memory, and her gentleness and kindness. She was a member of the Lois Church of Christ. Doris is preceded in death by her parents, James and Minnie Lesley Counts; husband, Jack L. Eslick; sister, Joyce Wiseman; twin daughters, Joan and Judy Eslick; and great-grandson, Brennan Buckner. She is survived by her children, Danny (Goldie) Eslick, Janet Askins, Joe Eslick, Marcia (David) Henley; grandchildren, Danielle (Brian) Buckner, Bryan (Brittney) Eslick, Deanna (Tom) Frederick, Michael Askins, Cody (Jamie) Askins, Lauren (Michael) Chamberlain, Rachel Henley; great-grandchildren, Briley Eslick, Jayleigh Eslick, Cason Buckner, Caleb Eslick, McKenna Buckner, Ava Chamberlain, Aden Chamberlain, June Askins, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, from 11am-1pm at Jennings-Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow at 1pm on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at Jennings-Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Lois Cemetery.
