Sara Benton Crew, 83, of Ochlocknee, GA, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025. Born April 2, 1942, in Thomasville, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie Dawson Benton and Sadie Sculley Benton. Sara was a homemaker whose greatest joy was cooking, and loving and caring for her family. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, whom she adored. She attended Ochlocknee Church of God in her younger years and faithfully followed Christ throughout her life.

On December 29, 1967 at Ochlocknee Baptist Church, she married the love of her life, Eugene A. Crew, who survives. She is also survived by her son, Ben Crew of Ochlocknee, GA; daughter, April C. Rinker (Jason) of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Jackson Crew, Jacob Crew, Anna Rinker, and Maddie Rinker; brother, Ned Benton of Lawrenceville, GA; nephews, Allen Wiggins of Woodstock, GA, and Keith Wiggins of Valdosta, GA; and many other nieces, nephews, and extended family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, David Benton, Joann Graham, and Patricia Griffin.

Sara will be remembered for her warm smile, unwavering faith, and the love she poured into her family and friends.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Ochlocknee City Cemetery, with Pastor Ron McCaskill officiating.
