Sara Marie Kirsten (Milanowski) Easto was born September 9, 1978 in Crown Point, Indiana to Thomas and Barbara (Smith) Milanowski. She was a valiant cancer warrior and mentor for over 16 years, ending on March 25, 2025.
Sara is survived by her loving partner, Bob Walk of Lowell, IN; father and step-mother, Thomas & Linda Milanowski of Hebron, IN; brother, Jeff (Kim) Milanowski of Lowell, IN; brother, Dan (Chelsea) Milanowski of Virginia Beach, VA; mother-in-law, Alane Walk of Lowell, IN; adored step-children: Bryce Walk and McKenna Kincaid of Demotte, IN and Tyler Morgan of Crown Point, IN. She was very proud of her nephews: Ryan, Kevin, Porter and Gunnar Milanowski. She cherished being godmother to Alaina Kielbasa, Kyle Michael Reed and honorary godmother to Patrick and Ashlynn White. She loved her large family of aunts, uncles, cousins and their families. In reality, if you met Sara you were her friend, she had several hundreds. Her closest friends were Dr. Melissa Cregger, Amanda Doyle Hinkle, Jamie McBain McMickle, Kate Gasaway Reed and Joel Hefner. Last but not least, the only cat she ever loved, August.
Sara's beloved mother, Barbara (Smith) Milanowski, and brother, Michael Milanowski, preceded her in death.
Sara graduated in 1996 from Lowell High School, Lowell, IN, lettering in cheerleading. She continued her education at the University of Southern Indiana, Evansville, IN, to become a Dental Hygienist. She worked for 18 years with Dr. Andy Koultourides of Ridge Dental Care, Munster, IN, as well as Associated Dentists of Northwest Indiana, Merrillville, IN. She loved her dental coworkers as family as well as her many patients.
Sara was an avid fan of sports, especially the Bears and White Sox. She has also watched Jeopardy since her childhood. She enjoyed watching these with her family and friends.
Much gratitude from Sara's family goes to Dr. Olwen Hahn, fellow colleagues and oncology nurses at University of Chicago Medicine, Chicago, IL. The last 6 years are because of them.
She is known for her smile, laugh, compassion and generosity; the Sunshine that walks into a room. One of her favorite quotes: Be the change you want to see in the world. Please pay it forward in memory of Sara.
Sara's wishes were to be cremated and laid to rest in a family plot with a private service. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
