WADESBORO - On Friday, December 12, 2025, Mrs. Sara Poplin Lear, 93, passed away peacefully at Meadowview Terrace Assisted Living in Wadesboro to be with her Lord and Savior.
Funeral services will be 4:00 PM, Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at Lilesville Baptist Church with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private in Anson Memorial Park.
The family welcomes visitors at the home in Wadesboro on Sunday, December 14, 2025 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM.
Sara was born May 18, 1932 in Anson County, NC and was a daughter of the late John Graham Poplin and the lte Tincey Lougenia Ratliff Poplin. She was a graduate of Lilesville High School. She worked many years with Zimmer Mfg. in Wadesboro.
She was a member of Lilesville Baptist Church.
Sara often said she had the best family and there was no family like her family. Those who are left to cherish her memory are her children, Bobby Lear (Pat) of Norwood, Sandra Horne (Jimmie) of Peachland and Steve Lear (Susan) of Wadesboro; her grandchildren, Robbie Lear (Heather) of Polkton, Brian Lear (Hanna) of Albemarle, Wendy Dagenhart (Mark) aand Jeff Horne (Denise) both of Peachland, Jennifer Tice, Jamie Lear, Jill Lear, Joey Lear, and Brandon Lear all of Wadesboro and Tim Goodwin of Hamlet; 23 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Lear; her son, Charles Lear ; her granddaughter, Marybeth Lear and by her sister and brothers, Grace Hill, Robert Poplin, Wade Poplin, Charlie Poplin, Coolidge Poplin, and Oner G. Poplin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lilesville Baptist Church, PO Box 305, Lilesville, NC 28091.
