Sara Ann McCarroll, age 51, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family. A devoted wife, mother, Grammy, Grandma, and daughter, Sara's life was a testament to strength, compassion, and unwavering love.
She was the beloved wife of William "Trooper" McCarroll, her partner in life and in love. Together they shared countless cherished memories. As a mother, Sara's heart was her family's anchor, always offering unconditional support, guidance, and warmth. To her grandchildren, she was Grammy and Grandma-a constant source of joy, laughter, and boundless love.
Sara dedicated her life to the service of others, working as a Registered Nurse. Her expertise, gained from earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), was matched only by her deep empathy and commitment to the well-being of her patients. For Sara, nursing was more than a career-it was a calling, and she touched countless lives with her kindness and care.
A pillar of strength for her family, Sara's heart was always open, and her hands were always busy helping those she loved. Whether it was a family gathering, a friend in need, or simply lending a listening ear, she was the rock that held everyone together. She was a member at Southeast Christian Church in Southern Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Steven Satterfield.
She is survived by her husband, Trooper McCarroll; children, Cody King (Natalie), Catie Hurt (Joseph), and Conner King (Brittany); grandchildren, Penny, Ellie, Carter, Kinsey, Maisie, Grayson, Waylon, and Beckham; parents, Dennis and Sandy Satterfield; brothers, Eric Satterfield (Patty), Aaron Satterfield (Kristle), and Adam Satterfield (Chelsea); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
In accordance with her wishes, Sara's family will honor her with cremation. A memorial visitation celebrating her life, love, and legacy will be held 2-7 p.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway – Jeffersonville.

The kindness, patience, love and respect she had towards her patients and co-workers. I met Sara taking care of a patient in Indiana years ago that had Alzheimer´s. Sara was amazing with her and we had great conversation between us. I looked forward to her visits with this patient and she was great mentor to me ! I have missed her but kept in the loop of her battle thru Facebook. I´ll never forget when she confided in me about her cancer when she first found it and I was heartbroken. I would get her chemo pucks and she always had a fighting attitude in them. I´m sad to see she had passed but am comforted in the fact she is no longer in pain and is with Jesus.
Rest in peace my friend. You were a heck of a warrior. It´s time to rest now. Love you forever!!
