Sara Lee Thomason O'Shields, age 92, of Tate, Georgia, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2026 at Wildwood Health Care. She was born March 1, 1934 to Arthur Lee and Lela Thomason in Hinton, Georgia.
Sara is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Susan O'Shields of Jasper, Jerry and Diane O'Shields of Jasper; Jackie and Teresa O'Shields of Tocoa, Tommy and Kim O'Shields of Jasper; grandchildren, Justin O'Shields, Kelly O'Shields, Katie O'Shields, Emily O'Shields; sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Bobby Quick of Jonesboro; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Billy and Barbara O'Shields of Jasper; brother-in-law, Leon Free; and sister-in-law, Corene Thomason. Several other family members also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George O'Shields.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 29, 2026 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Free Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Saturday, March 28, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 29, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
