Sara had many well-known creative talents and always used those special gifts for others. Jimmy said she could decorate a home, a room, or any place and cater it and make it special and inviting all in her healthier days. She truly had the gift of hospitality. Her greatest joys on this earth were her family and extended family and her church family. The years she spent serving in the childrens department and later on the church kitchen, were some of her best memories to share with us. She greatly missed being able to go and do those things over these past couple of years.
Jimmy and Sara partnered together to love their family well. Jimmy cared for Sara in these latter years with unwavering tenacity. What a gift from God he's been to her and to all of their family. Sara's love for family will live on in her girls and all of her grands and greats. Most importantly, she loved Jesus and because of that love was able to love others well until the very end. In her new Bible study book for the new year, she said it helped her more than anything to be reminded that Jesus was with her and she was not alone (even in her suffering). Her family takes great comfort in knowing that she is dancing and rejoicing uninhibited now.
The family would like to thank her caring physician, Dr. Emily Williams, Southeast Hospice Network, her special dentist, Dr. Jordan Smith, and Mt. Vernon Baptist Church family and friends.
Honorary pallbearers are Jamison Smith, Jordan Smith, Roman Calvert, Carson Calvert, Jarrett Tuggle, Reid Humphries, and Preston Short.
