Sara, DiGregorio, Scapelitte, Purpura, The wedding cake impresario, hole in one golfer, and dancer extraordinaire passed away on May 6, 2025 at the age of 100. She was born July 22, 1924 to Joseph and Carmella DiGregorio.
She is survived by her sisters Virginia (Basil) Triscari and Sister Rose Therese (OSF) three sons Daniel (Marcia) Scapelitte, Frank Scapelitte, and Joseph (Jo Anne) Scapelitte, Children of her second marriage which she considered her own James G.(Suzanne) Purpura, Diana Purpura Mace and Jerry Purpura.
Her pride and joy grandchildren: Danielle (Sam) LaMancuso, Marc Scapelitte, Jeremy Scapelitte, Lisa Scapelitte Cawlfield, Gina (David) Cunningham, and Laurie Scapelitte Reynolds.
Her loving great grandchildren: Noah and Hayley Cunningham, Joshua and Rylie Loomis, Charlotte Scapelitte, Gabriel and Kendall Cawlfield, Lilliana and Luke Reynolds.
Many cousins, nieces and nephews
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her best friend and brother Geralomo (Jerry) Di Gregorio and his wife Marian, her first husband Frank J. Scapelitte, her second husband James Purpura, her brother in law Basi! Triscari, her niece Mary Ann DiGregorio (John) Hallenbeck, and nephew Sebastian Triscari
A memorial service will be held on May 17. 2025 from 2pm-5pm at Riccardi's Hubert Funeral Home.
Inurnment will be private.
