Krueger-Nimsgern Funeral & Cremation Services - TomahawkSara J. Reiff, 82, a longtime Tomahawk resident passed away peacefully Monday, July 14, 2025 at Rennes in Rhinelander.
Sara was born April 26, 1943 in Wisconsin Rapids to Robert and Doris (Fitzgerald) Dosen. She grew up in Port Edwards, WI. She married David Reiff on August 13, 1966 in Wisconsin Rapids. Dave passed away in 2021.
Sara received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire. She taught in West Bend, Wisconsin and Valparaiso, Indiana. She was an accomplished piano player and enjoyed playing many variations of music. After she and Dave moved to Tomahawk, she paused her teaching career to raise her children, but once they went to school she picked up teaching again, this time as a piano teacher. Sara taught many accomplished pianists and was able to create and nourish many relationships. Sara was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Tomahawk and often had the opportunity to play the piano there to strengthen their ministry. Upon her retirement, Sara worked as a substitute teacher in the Tomahawk School District for 8 years. Sara also enjoyed playing bridge and golf which created many lifelong friends and wonderful memories.
Surviving Sara Reiff are her two sons, Edward “Ted” Reiff of St. Paul, MN and John (Kara) Reiff of Hinsdale, Il. One brother, Jim (Peg) Dosen of Longmont, CO. She is further survived by 4 grandchildren, Henry, Eleanor, Isabella, and Sophia. Sara was preceded in death by her parents Bob and Doris and her husband Dave.
A Memorial Celebration for Sara Reiff will be held on August 6, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. from Grace Lutheran Church. Pastor Julie Sinkula will officiate. The family will receive friends at Grace Lutheran Church from 10 am until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. The family would appreciate memorials to the Tomahawk Kinship program.
