Sara Shepherd Obituary

Sara "Sally" Hanson Shepherd was born on August 11, 1928 in Thief River Falls, Minnesota to Leonard Hanson and Lylabell Schuster Hanson. On January 20, 1948, she married Fulton "Fully" Burl Shepherd in Amarillo, Texas. Together they raised their three sons, Carl, Bruce and Keith, in Amarillo.
Sara moved to Breckenridge a few years ago, where she joined the Woman's Forum, became involved in the Senior Citizen Center and volunteered at the Breckenridge Fine Arts Center. For a time, she even wrote the Senior Citizen News for The Breckenridge American.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Milan Hanson, Harry "Abe" Hanson; one son, Carl Shepherd; and one great granddaughter, Phoenix Stephens.
She is survived by her sons, Bruce Shepherd and wife Anita of Breckenridge, Keith Shepherd of Amarillo; daughter-in-law, Betsy Shepherd of Midland; nine grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
