Sara “Bibby” Slack, 90, of Wheelersburg, went to be with her Savior from Grant Medical Center in Columbus on August 9, 2024. Born on September 12, 1933, in Greenup County, KY, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Naomi Jordan Floyd.
Sara was a lifetime member of Union Free Will Baptist Church and a beautician.
Also preceding her in death were her husband, Arva Slack; two sons, Michael Slack I, and Jerald Slack; a daughter, Kathryn Slack; a brother, Ralph Gill; a sister Lolita “Toni” Gaither and two granddaughters, Megan Slack and Katie Slack.
Surviving are two sons, Arva “Chip” (Teri) Slack of Columbus and Scott Slack of New Boston; three daughters, Lolita Raynard, Vernita (Mike) Flannery and Carla Slack, all of Sciotoville; a daughter-in-law, Cindy Slack of Wheelersburg; thirteen grandchildren; thirty-two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Sara’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 13th, at Union Free Will Baptist Church with Zack Conkel, Chris Oiler and Joe VanMeter officiating. Interment will be in South Webster Cemetery.
The family will receive guest at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday and from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the church.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Hill View Retirement Center and Dr. Jeffrey Hill.
At the family’s request, memorial contributions may be made to the SOMC Hospice.
