Sara Jane Killam Stephens, age 73, of
Westminster, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and the memories of a life beautifully lived. She was born on November 30, 1952, in
San Angelo, Texas, and carried with her a lifelong spirit of kindness, resilience, and quiet strength.
Sara was the devoted wife of William James Stephens, whom she married on November 3, 1970, in Eola, Texas. Their 41 years of marriage were rooted in love, loyalty, and a deep partnership filled with treasured memories. As a dedicated homemaker, Sara took great pride in caring for her family, finding joy and purpose in the simple, meaningful moments of everyday life.
Those who knew Sara will remember her as a gentle and steady presence-someone who made others feel welcomed, valued, and cared for. She had a warm heart and a peaceful nature, and she found her greatest happiness in being surrounded by those she loved. Her family was her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She also found joy in gardening, spending time outdoors, and caring for her beloved chihuahuas.
Sara was preceded in death by her husband, William James Stephens; her brothers, Jimmy Jerel Killam and Steven Wayne Killam; her parents, Jimmie Clarkson Killam and Norma Jane Chambers Killam; her nephews, Brent Killam and Gerald Killam; and her niece, Michelle Killam. While her passing leaves a deep sense of loss, her family finds comfort in knowing she has been reunited with those who went before her.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Angela Jane Stephens Stevens and her husband Kyle, and Christopher James Stephens and his wife Jamee. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Dylan Stevens, Sammi Hefty, and Josh Hefty, who brought her immense pride and joy. In addition, she is survived by her brother, Michael Killam, along with many nieces and nephews who will continue to honor her memory with love.
