Sara Stevens

Sara Fleming Stevens, 78, of Bradley, widow of Ben "Benny" L. Stevens, passed away Friday, December 19, 2025 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born on February 5, 1947 in Abbeville, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Fleming and Margaret Ellis Fleming.

Sara was a devoted employee at Cardinal Health (formerly Kendall Professional Medical Products), where she worked in payroll for over thirty years before retiring.

She had a great love for all animals and enjoyed spending her free time nurturing her garden, showcasing her impressive green thumb. Sara loved traveling, creating countless memories with her family at the lake, beach, and mountains. A highlight of her adventures was a family cruise to the Bahamas. An accomplished baker, she was known for creating beautiful wedding cakes, with her specialty being red velvet being a family favorite. Sara also had a love for cars, especially street rods.

Above all, Sara cherished her family and her faith in the Lord. She found her greatest joy in her grandchildren, who were the heart of her life.

She is survived by her children, Ginger Evett (Toney) and Travis Stevens (Shari); stepson, Greg Stevens (Christy); brother, Doug Fleming; and grandchildren, Layne Stevens, Emma Rushton, Ella Rushton, Julie Stevens, and Reid Stevens.

In addition to her husband, Benny and parents, Clarence and Margaret, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Judy Scott and Patricia "Pat" Skidmore.
