Sara P. Zavada

Sara P. Zavada, 93, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 in her Muhlenberg residence. She was the loving wife of Thomas J. Zavada until his passing in 2008. Born in Wilkes Barre, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Anna (Mihalick) Kaczmarek. Sara worked as an operator for Bell Telephone for over 40 years before her retirement in 1992. She enjoyed trips to the Jersey Shore and trying her luck at the casinos. A devout Catholic, Sara was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Parish. Sara is survived by a daughter; brother, Ronald Kaczmarek (Mary) of Myerstown; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers: Raymond Jr., Edmund, and Bernard Kaczmarek; and nephews, Kevin and Joseph Kaczmarek. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at 12:00 pm in the Chapel of St. George at Gethsemane Cemetery, 3139 Kutztown Road Reading, PA 19605. A viewing will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2023 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am in Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. 5153 Kutztown Road Temple, PA 19560.
