Sarah Rebecca Brooks

A celebration of the life of Becky P. Brooks, age 80, of Ashland will take place on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 12:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church in Ashland with Reverend Ben Rosser and Zach Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Clay County Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:30 A.M. until service time at 12:00 at the church.
Sarah Rebecca Pittard was born on October 13, 1945, the youngest of four children to Robert and Sarah Pittard. She leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and faith.
Becky was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Sarah Pittard; her siblings, David Pittard and JoAnn Cowan; her husband, Ronald E. Brooks; and her daughter, Melissa Lucille Brooks.
She is survived by her daughter, Beth Brooks Baker and husband Mark; grandson Daniel Zachary Smith, fiancée Brooke Giddens, and stepson Charlie; granddaughter Sarah Emily Smith; grandson John Brooks Williams; great-grandchildren, Harper and Patton Fields; sister, Joyce Reynolds; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Becky was a teacher at Miss Robbie's Day Care and the first Patient Advocate at Russell Hospital. Becky's compassion touched countless lives. Her life of service was rooted in true advocacy, always ensuring others were seen and cared for.
Mrs. Becky Brooks anchored her life in her faith. She served in multiple roles at both First Baptist Church in Alex City and Ashland, Alabama, embodying her love for Christ through unwavering commitment, kindness, and service to all she met.
Her home and yard were a testament to her love for family, friends, and nature, brimming with plants and relics connecting generations. Loyal, honest, kind, reliable, and delightfully stubborn, Becky faced decades of health struggles with unmatched strength and determination.
She continually sought out new adventures and cherished every moment with her loved ones. Her warmth, positivity, and boundless love will be remembered by all who had the privilege to know her.
Though she is greatly missed, Becky's legacy endures. She is now joyfully reunited with Ronald, Melissa, and all those who went before her-preparing a place in heaven for the ones she held dear.
Pallbearers will be Bob Allen, Zach Smith, Orry Allen, Garey Reynolds, John Brooks Williams and Greg Reynolds. Honorary Pallbearers are Bobby Reynolds and Kit Cowan.
Visitation will be from 10:30 A.M. until service time at 12:00 at the church.
FLOWERS WILL BE ACCEPTED, HOWEVER THE FAMILY PREFERS MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS BE MADE TO THE FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH OF ASHLAND IN BECKY'S MEMORY.
