Sarah Imogene Brownlow

Mrs. Sarah Imogene Griggs Brownlow, age 96, of Aragon, Georgia, met her Lord and Savior on Monday, September 15, 2025, at a local healthcare facility.
Mrs. Brownlow was born in Gadsden, Alabama on July 16, 1929, daughter of the late Rev. Hubert J. Griggs, and the late Clara Mae Meeks Griggs. She was also preceded in death by the love of her life, Emory 'Junior' Brownlow, her husband of sixty years, a daughter, Judy Brownlow, her brothers, J.D. Griggs and James Griggs, and a son-in-law, Don Mills.
Prior to retirement, she was a self-employed beautician for over twenty years. After retirement, she and her husband traveled extensively throughout the US, and cruised to numerous destinations. Before ill health robbed her of the ability, she enjoyed needlework, reading, cooking, and spent many hours canning and freezing the bounties of their gardens, but her greatest joy was the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. She was an active member of Flint Hill Baptist Church and at the time of her death was the oldest living member there.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Edith Brownlow Mills; her son, Michael (Kathy) Brownlow; her grandchildren, Woody (Alex) Brownlow, Carie Brownlow (Jeff) Shugart, Kaci Hope Mills, and Chad Crumley (Emily); her great grandchildren, Levi Crumley, Kaleb Shugart, and Bree Shugart; nieces, nephews, and numerous friends and loved ones in the Flint Hill community where she made her home for some sixty years.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at 3:00pm, at Flint Hill Baptist Church, with Rev. Don Spears officiating. Interment will follow in Flint Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Flint Hill Baptist Church on Sunday, September 21, 2025, from 2:00pm until the hour of service.
Pallbearers are asked to assemble at the church on Sunday by 2:30pm, and include, Jeff Shugart, Kaleb Shugart, Steve Mason, Danny Brumbelow, Mike Lecroy, and Keelan Brumbelow.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff at Winthrop Health and Rehab, and to the nurses from Affinis Hospice for their compassionate love, care, and support.
