Sarah Elizabeth Buchanan

Sarah Elizabeth Buchanan was born November 9, 1943 in Nashville, TN to Oddie Mae and Jerry Arnell Watkins.

Sarah (lovingly known as Say) was educated in the Metropolitan Nashville Public School system. At a young age she fell in love with Otis Bernard Buchanan and was married in 1964.
During Sarah's years in Milwaukee, she worked at 4-C's day care. Once she returned to Nashville, she worked for Meguiars, Belmont University and Tennessee State University. After retirement, she rekindled her love for early childhood education by caring for numerous babies throughout her entire family.
Sarah loved interior design, puzzles, cooking, gardening, yard work and especially spending quality time with her family.
Sarah Elizabeth Buchanan was proceeded in death by her mother, Oddie Mae Watkins, father Jerry Arnell Watkins, husband Otis Bernard Buchanan, brother Bobby Watkins, brother Charles (Dorothy) Watkins and brother Clarence Watkins.
Sarah leaves to cherish her legacy, daughters Regina (Frank) Mitchell and Cassandra (Kevin) Robertson. Her legacy of love will also be remembered by her grandchildren CoReCa Buchanan, FaMitah Buchanan, Marlon Buchanan, Quilona (Quantanias) Robertson and Kevin J Robertson, Jr. Her love will continue to be passed down to her great grandchildren Jasmine Ridley, Jade Buchanan, Jayla Mitchell, Jayden Ridley, Jamari Ridley, Roman Brown, Lea Watkins, Leo Watkins, Faith Watkins, Teleah Buchanan, Tionna Buchanan, T'Lique Hammonds, Tahnee' Knowles, Tyrell Wyatt, Jordan Robertson and Kenzie Hunt. Her proud great-great grandson Kayden Ridley will always love his "Grandma Say".
Sarah adored being a part of a big family and leaves her siblings, Laura Mae Perkins, Josephine Coltrane, Gerald Burkes, Beatrice Fayne, Linda White, Sharon Watkins, Richard (Marie) Watkins and Jerry (Mary) Watkins to treasure the memories of love and laughter. She was not only involved in the lives of her 42+ nieces and nephews, but her legacy of love was felt throughout the multiple generations that followed, 91+ great nieces and nephews and 24+ great-great nieces and nephews. Viewing Wednesday, September 22, 2021, 1-6 at funeral home. Visitation Thursday, 10-11 with funeral to follow at Mt. Paran PB Church 1701 14th Ave. North. Burial in Middle Tn. State Veterans Cemetery.
